If you’ve been following us on Facebook, you’ve noticed a tradition or two by now: The Saturday morning musings and the Food Mood posts. We build a collection of snapshots throughout the week; captured dishes on the corner of the counter on their way to tables.
Merely naming the dish, it seems, would not suffice. One of the ways we feature those snapshots on Facebook is to match a dish to quote; at times thought-provoking and at times humorous. This marks a pause, a time to reflect and appreciate the gift of a savored Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or Brunch. Food is not just sustenance, it is an experience, a shared moment, a gift for the senses. Even if you eat alone, your surroundings, your day, your concerns, your hopes, shape your appreciation of the dish.
The Holiday Season begins this Thanksgiving Week. There is excitement in the air, more reasons to spend time with family and friends, dinners to plan, office parties, an undeniable playful spirit that seems to lighten the mood of even the most stoic among us. This mood is contagious. Thank goodness for that.
This is also a time to pause, change the pace. Also, it seems we cannot help but begin to review the year in the back of our minds. 2020 is ahead, and an election on top of that. So, today, we pause to share a few of our favorite Food Moods from the 158 Main Facebook page, and to thank you for visiting with us there. It is always a pleasure to see your reactions, read your comments and exchange playful words.
And now, to our Food Mood Collection and Gallery…
