Sunday, May 17th, 2026, will be the final day that 158 Main Restaurant serves the community under my ownership, and while it’s certainly bittersweet, I know it’s time for a new chapter to begin. After 22 and a half incredible years, the time has come for me to step away from the kitchen and hang up my apron.
Since opening our doors, in 2004, in the heart of the village, 158 Main has been more than a business; it’s been my second home and a place where I’ve watched families grow, shared countless laughs, and served what I hope was a little bit of comfort in every loaf of bread.
Before closing this door, I want to take one moment to thank the true heart of this restaurant — every single staff member who has walked through these doors over the past 22 years. From day one to our final service, each of you played a part in making 158 Main what it became. There are far too many names to mention, but please know that every cook, server, dishwasher, prep hand, host, delivery driver, and helping hand along the way, holds a special place in my heart. Without your hard work, loyalty, and dedication, none of this would have been possible.
To the Jeffersonville community — thank you once again for embracing me, supporting me, and allowing me to do what I loved for over two decades. You made this little restaurant into something much bigger than a business. It became family. I am filled with gratitude for the loyalty you’ve shown me since the beginning. Your support, whether it was the Jeffersonville Pizza Dept., 158 Main Catering, or 158 Main Restaurant, allowed me to do what I loved for decades, and for that, I am grateful and truly humbled.
While this chapter comes to an end, I’m excited for what comes next for this beautiful space. Please stay tuned as James Janes and Brandon Chilson begin their own ode to Jeffersonville with a new restaurant and new vision. I couldn’t be happier to pass along this opportunity to people who care deeply about this village and its future.
And for everyone asking — all current gift cards will absolutely be honored once James and Brandon open their operation and begin this next chapter.
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for 22 unforgettable years. I’m not going far, and I look forward to seeing you all around the village. Thank you for making these past 22 years a journey of a lifetime.
With Deep Gratitude Always,
Chef Jack
