April, you will be pleased to know, is National BLT Sandwich Month! Now that makes up for mud season as fast as it takes to scream “BLT” with delight. Wouldn’t you say? It’s also National Grilled Cheese Month. We say, combine the two. The road to happiness just got a lot shorter. How about a BLT and Brie melt? It’s not on the menu and don’t let that stop you!
April. Dictionaries defines it simply, as the fourth month of the year. In some, the odd but fitting example follows: “The prison will close in April.” The prison of winter surely; and through the mud and muck of spring showers and the occasional last-minute snow invasion, we shall be released to the freedom of summer. That is something to celebrate with a good BLT, perhaps, and a good brew.
April days worthy of notice include the 4th, National Cordon Bleu Day. National Beer Day is on the 7th. And let’s not forget National Eggs Benedict Day on the 16th. That falls on a Tuesday, so you will be able to indulge on your way to work. If a business meeting is in the way, we recommend a plea to your superiors to move it to our tables. You can accomplish so much more when the mood is uplifted. That’s our argument anyway and we believe it has great merit.
By the way, National English Muffin Day is on the 23rd, also a Tuesday. Eggs Benedict is served on English Muffin. Pigs-in-a-Blanket Day follows on the 24th. Two winning days in a row. You might consider purchasing a lottery ticket on your way to Breakfast.
National Garlic Day is on the 19th. A Margherita Pizza comes to mind. Add sausage. Pure bliss. That happens to be a Friday this year. Sometimes, the timing is just perfect.
